First and foremost, thank you for the amazing gift of joining us to celebrate our wedding! We truly appreciate the time, effort, and expense you've taken on to make our day special.
This is a little different from the traditional "Our Story", but we actually wanted to take this opportunity to update all of our favorite people about our current (& future!) story. We want to share with you what we’re doing with our lives and our next big adventure!
It started during our recent trip to New Zealand (where Taylor finally did something worth a damn, and Lindsay came home with a shiny new ring). We fell in love with the incredible landscape, culture, and people. While there, we met a young American newlywed couple who had moved to Sydney, Australia the year before. They told us about their amazing opportunities and how much they were learning while working & traveling. We couldn't help but feel jealous of the adventure they were on, and they sparked an idea between us that has been on our minds ever since.
Fast forward nearly 1.5 years....
After months of thought, research, and planning, we've finally made a plan to depart Raleigh, NC, our home for the last 5 years, and make an adventure out of the first chapter of our lives as husband and wife:
After saying “I do” and celebrating with our favorite people in the world, we will be spending a month or so in Australia and New Zealand with a mission (after a week of relaxation to recharge). We’re going to spend time in a handful of areas to investigate opportunities that may be available to us, like job and career potentials, and frugally explore the beautiful country from the road.
Once our month is over, we will be making a big decision: return to the US to plant our roots or to start an adventure down under! We're so excited to embark upon this dream of ours - to explore and experience more out of life while we are young(ish). Of course, this comes at a fairly high cost - financially, professionally, personally - but we think the sacrifices will be well worth what we receive in return.
But first-- get married.
We can't wait to see you on April 6th!
Please join us at our rehearsal dinner for a casual evening of fun! We will have dinner, drinks (including beer & wine), and music as we celebrate our upcoming honeymoon down under. We will be enjoying the beautiful Florida Keys weather by spending the evening outside, so please dress casually & comfortably (but maybe leave your cutoffs at home)!
